A week in Medellín mixing work and exploring

I came to work remotely for a week and the wifi-plus-weather combination is hard to beat. I split time between El Poblado (busier, more nomads) and Laureles (calmer, more local).
Co-working spaces double as a social scene — I met more people at a desk than at any bar. Spanish basics go a long way and locals were endlessly patient with mine.
"No dar papaya" is the local mantra: don't give opportunity. Keep your phone away on the street and you'll be fine.
Where I stayed
An aparthotel in Laureles for the quiet, with co-working day passes in El Poblado. Both felt comfortable solo.
Safety notes
Stick to Uber/Cabify at night, keep your phone pocketed on the street, and be cautious with dating apps. Standard big-city awareness goes a long way.
